Amethyst three ways. The center stone has a frosted, silvery-violet surface — not glassy, almost matte — and it's flanked by two smaller polished rounds in the same purple family.
Building a piece entirely from one mineral means the interest has to come from scale and finish instead of color. The graduated sizes give it rhythm, and the frosted center against the polished sides gives it texture. Amethyst was valued alongside ruby and emerald until Brazil turned out to be full of it, and I still treat it with that older respect.
It wears rich and cohesive — quietly jewel-like rather than showy.
Every solder seam on this band was flowed by hand and filed until it disappeared.
