Pale aquamarine, calm as standing water, inside an ornately engraved silver frame — the frame doing all the talking, which is a reversal of how I usually work. This stone is genuinely soft in color, and a plain bezel around it looked like an unfinished thought. Every engraved line was cut with a graver by hand, with no way to undo a slip.
Hand engraving never repeats exactly, so this frame belongs to this stone.
