Someone cut a floral and scroll motif directly into the face of this large moonstone teardrop, so the blue-white flash now travels along the grooves instead of gliding over a smooth dome. Above it I set a faceted oval amethyst — deep violet, hard sparkle, something structured to balance all that softness. Moonstone is dreamlike; amethyst is composed. The sterling is hand-textured throughout, the bail is scaled, and granulated balls run along both frames: detail answering detail.
