Chrysoprase is hopeful. Fresh soft green, the color of the first week of spring, and it gets that hue from nickel, which is why nothing else in the mineral world looks quite like it.
Beside it I set coin pearls, warm and lustrous, and the pairing is cool against warm, mineral against something an animal made. Clean silver settings, nothing else, because both materials are soft-spoken and neither would survive a busy frame.
Both pearl bezels were burnished down slowly by hand; pearls are fragile and unforgiving, and you get exactly one attempt.
They wear fresh and light, the kind of pair you reach for without thinking on a morning when you want to feel put together.
Green and pearl is an old combination that almost nobody makes anymore, and I have no idea why.
