Chrysoprase is the optimist. Fresh, hopeful, the green of the first week of spring — and this one is apple-bright, fully opaque, with no matrix and no cloudiness anywhere. The color comes from nickel, which is why it looks like no other green stone.
Cut as a marquise and laid across the finger rather than along it, it turns graphic: 30 millimeters of unbroken green with pointed ends. I bezel-set it tight and left the band plain. A shape that assertive does not need help, and it sits beautifully beside the blues and neutrals in the rest of the collection.
The two points are where the work was. I burnished the bezel tips down slowly with a hand tool, a little at a time, because rushing a point means chipping the stone and starting again with a stone you no longer have.
