Confident purple above a quieter glow.
Deep, unhesitating purple — amethyst at its most confident, the color rich enough that it doesn't need light to look expensive. I set the ovals at the top in beaded bezels so there's handmade texture right where the earring meets your ear.
Beneath them, moonstone. Moonstone is the dreamer of this collection: quiet, lit from within, never quite the same color twice. Purple over that soft blue-white glow could have gone flat, so I granulated a ring of tiny silver balls around each one, radiating outward like a small sunburst.
Those granules are the part I'd point at. Each ball is melted from wire individually, placed with tweezers, and soldered without disturbing its neighbors. It took an evening and a half and it is the reason these earrings catch light even when the moonstones are resting.
They hang from English lever-backs, which I use when a pair has enough weight to deserve a secure closure. Bold and textural, and they swing just enough to be noticed.
