Round crazy lace agate, rust and cream swirling in bands, inside an ornate scrolled silver frame. Two kinds of intricacy meeting head-on, which is normally a mistake.

It works here because the agate's pattern is soft-edged and flowing while the frame's scrollwork is crisp and deliberate. Natural chaos inside made order. Had the stone been sharper in pattern, the whole thing would have turned into noise.

Every scroll on that frame was formed, soldered and cleaned up by hand, and the seams between them are filed flush so the metalwork reads as one continuous piece.

It wears richly detailed and old-world. Something that looks inherited rather than bought, which I take as the highest compliment.

Agate patterning is random and hand scrollwork is never identical, so this pendant exists exactly once.
