Warm reddish-brown matrix, and then along one edge the whole thing breaks open into blue-green iridescence. Fire opal in its host rock — earth on one side, fire on the other.
I left it freeform because the flash sits where it sits, and cutting it to a tidy oval would have meant cutting the good part away. The frame is hand-stamped silver, worked to follow the stone's irregular outline; every one of those stamped impressions was struck individually with a hand punch.
Size 7.25. There is no other stone with this edge, and no other ring built to hold it.
