Green fluorite is a dreamer. Glassy, translucent, almost pastel — like looking into shallow water over pale sand. The mineral is where we got the word fluorescence; it was named first and the phenomenon after it.
It's also fragile, around 4 on the Mohs scale, and I won't pretend otherwise. That's exactly why the design looks the way it does: I set the stone deep and let the silver stand slightly proud of the dome, so the metal takes any knock before the fluorite does. Protective rather than decorative.
I shaped the band to sit close and low for the same reason. Soft stones need designs that think about them.
Wearing it feels gentle. It's a ring for slow days rather than busy ones, and treated kindly it will outlast all of us.
