A mixed-cut version of a pairing I keep returning to. The kyanites here vary between them — different shapes, slightly different depths of blue — and I let that stand instead of hunting for twins.
Aquamarine above brings the calm: pale, watery, unhurried. Kyanite below brings the depth. Together they read as a single blue with a gradient inside it, which is the only reason I keep making this combination.
Natural stones don't match and I've stopped pretending otherwise; the variation is the honest part. Every bezel was formed against its own stone and filed to fit, so no two of the four settings on this pair are quite identical either.
