Labradorite is the most mysterious material I work with. At rest it looks like storm clouds; tilt it and the blue arrives all at once, like northern lights across a gray sky. Quiet magic, and completely free of charge as far as the stone is concerned.
These are ovals with a soft blue-gray flash, and I edged each bezel with beaded silver detailing. That beading is the only decoration and it exists for a practical reason: a plain bezel around a gray stone can look severe, and a beaded edge catches enough light to keep the frame alive when the stone is not flashing.
Every one of those beads was melted onto wire individually and placed by hand around the curve.
They wear versatile and classic. Gray enough to go with everything, alive enough that people look twice.
A stone that hides its best trick until you move is my favorite kind of stone.
