Flame plumes rising through cream.
Montana agate is the most painterly stone I use. Inside this one, flame-like plumes of amber and rust rise through cream in patterns that look brushed on, formed by iron and manganese seeping into silica along ancient river beds.
Because the stone is horizontal and long, 45 mm across and only 20 tall, the pendant lies flat like a small panel painting. I framed it architecturally with drilled dot detailing and set small accent stones along the edges, so there is a rhythm running along the length of it.
Every one of those holes was drilled by hand, and drilling into a finished silver frame is exactly as nerve-wracking as it sounds.
Measurements:
20 mm (H) x 45 mm (W) — 3/4 x 1 3/4 inches
It wears bold and horizontal, which is unusual enough that people ask about it before they ask about the stone.
Agate plumes are unrepeatable; this picture came out of the rough once.
Chain Options:
The listed price includes an 18 inch, 2 mm sterling silver chain. If you would like something different — longer, heavier, oxidized, or steel instead of silver — send me a message before you order and I will walk you through the options.
Shipping: Free shipping on all orders over $200.
