Silver pushed up into flowers, with one deep blue point.
The metal came first here and the stone was almost an afterthought, which is unusual for me. I wanted to try repoussé at ring scale — pushing the design up from behind the silver rather than carving into the front — and once all that movement existed, a large stone would have buried it. A small rose-cut sapphire was exactly enough.
Size 8.75, sterling silver. Repoussé is worked freehand, so this surface cannot be reproduced.
