A faceted oval ruby above a teardrop moonstone, both in a beaded gold-toned bezel. Small ring, jewel-box density.
Ruby is the vital one — it reads like a pulse, warm and insistent. Moonstone is the dreamer. Putting them one above the other in a compact setting means you get both temperatures at once, which is more interesting than either alone.
The beading around both bezels was struck by hand, one impression at a time, and in gold there's no margin for error — you can't sand a mistake out of a warm-toned metal without leaving a shadow.
It wears refined and a little precious, in the good sense. Elegant, close to the hand.
